The art classes at King-Chavez Athletics Academy are implemented for one hour and thirty minutes every other week where students work in specific projects related to modern art, cultural aspects and social awareness. The themes of the art program incorporate art work of artists such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Pablo Picasso, Chicano Park muralists, The Beatles, Van Gogh, Monet, Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol and U2 to name a few modern artists. The main purpose of the art program is to teach students leadership, self-confidence, awareness and the ability to express their feelings, thoughts and ideas through art. They will also learn to appreciate and enjoy art in its different forms. The majority of the art lessons were designed by using technology (power point presentation) introducing students to the technology era while learning art.
